If you’re looking to install a fence at your Denver area home or business, you’re wondering how long fence installation takes. The answer depends on several factors, but in general, once we have all the materials and the permits in place, we can install your fence in about 3 days.
Let’s take a look at how long the process takes from start to finish.
Scheduling an Estimate
When you contact us to schedule an estimate, we can usually get you on the calendar within 1-3 days. It depends on your schedule and where your property is. We know once you’re scheduling fence installation estimates, you want to get the project moving quickly.
Permitting and Design Approval
If we need a permit to build your fence because of the specific height or location, that can go relatively quickly, but can also face delays, depending on the time of year. Permit offices are busier in the spring and summer months because everyone is doing their outdoor projects.
And if you need to get HOA approval or approval from an architectural review board, it’s the same story. But we can tell you that as soon as you hire us, we will get the process moving forward.

Ordering or Picking Up Materials
If we can easily pick up the materials you need from one of our local vendors, this phase takes just part of a day. But if we need to special order your fencing materials, that can take 5-10 business days, depending on the type of fence and the size of the area to be fenced in.

Once We Have Your Materials and the Permits
Once we have (or are about to have) all the materials we need for your project and all the necessary approvals, we schedule your fence installation. In general, once we arrive at your property, it takes us about 3 days to install your fence and gate(s).
The first day is spent tearing down the old fence (if there is one), digging post holes and installing the fence posts. We come back the next day after the posts have set, and start putting up fence panels or individual pickets, depending on your fence style and materials.
There are a few factors that can speed up or delay your fence installation, including:
- The size of your property (Larger fences will of course take longer to install).
- Terrain (If the property slopes, is rocky, we run into tree roots, it can take longer).
- Complexity of the design (If your fence has custom features, it will take longer to install than a simple fence.)
- Weather (We try to schedule around the weather, but a sudden rainstorm can delay installation depending on how far along we are.)
We pride ourselves on offering quality fence installation and quick turnarounds for our customers. We would welcome the chance to work with you.
